There's a large police contingent deployed at the taxi ranks and routes operated by associations WATA and NANDUWE in Soweto.have been arrested and their taxis impounded for operating on the routes that have been declared closed in Soweto.

The drivers have been detained at Orlando and Moroka police stations.
