Farmers Market Peak Season kicks off Saturday

The Enterprise Farmers Market Peak Season Kickoff and Farm to Fork Chef Showdown cooking competition will be held this Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. The event was rescheduled from May 18 due to inclement weather.

Enterprise Mayor William E. Cooper will give opening remarks at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Second Annual Chef Showdown at 9 a.m. Home cooks were chosen to be paired up with local “celebrity chefs.” People are also reading… Everyone is encouraged to come out to watch these chef teams shop the market and prepare a dish for judging.

On Saturday, June 29, Watermelon Day returns to the Enterprise Farmers Market from 7 a.m. to noon. Events include largest watermelon, watermelon eating, seed spitting and watermelon rolling contests. The 2024 Gulf Coast Watermelon Association Queen, Tori Hobbs, will also be in attendance.
