S&P 500 Q3 earnings growth continues to be revised lower

earnings growth for Q3 2024 has once again been revised lower, now standing at just 3.2%, according to Strategas analysts.

While it is typical for estimates to be lowered ahead of earnings season, Strategas warns that 3.2% could decline even further if major contributors disappoint. The rest of the sectors are expected to post between -2% and 4% growth, suggesting that earnings growth may not be widespread this quarter.
