Microsoft Insists on TPM for Windows 11, Market Share Slows

Microsoft continues to enforce strict hardware requirements for Windows 11, emphasizing the importance of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for security. Despite TPM not being listed as a minimum requirement for Windows Server 2025, Microsoft maintains that TPM 2.0 is essential for Windows 11. The TPM chip ensures hardware-level security, safeguarding confidential data and encrypting/decrypting data.

However, these stringent requirements have contributed to a slowdown in Windows 11's market share. With Windows 10 approaching the end of its free support period, expectations are high for Microsoft to relax the hardware demands. Despite TPM's usefulness, some users argue that it should not be a mandatory requirement. Microsoft has recently closed a loophole in its Insider build, making it harder for users to bypass these demands
