Japanese automakers Honda and Nissan have agreed to explore a merger, potentially forming a joint holding company that would become the world's third-largest automaker. The companies aim for combined sales of $191 billion and operating profits exceeding $19 billion. Negotiations are expected to conclude around June 2025, with a holding company setup by August 2026.
