MANILA, Philippines– The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Incorporated cautioned the public not to resort to racism as the“Spreading fake news and racist, xenophobic messages can be more dangerous than the virus itself due to their negative effects of causing confusion, fears, rancor and instability,” FFCCCII said in a statement on Saturday, February 1.
The business chamber also reminded Filipinos that China is an important economic partner of the Philippines for a thousand years. “In fact, we should give moral support and encouragements to China in their valiant efforts to contain this ailment,” FFCCCII said. The group said it plans to donate a million or more face masks to Filipinos, although the World Health Organization already said that masks are not needed by healthy people with no respiratory symptoms. The threat is real. The neighboring countries have acted in even more stringent manner. Hindi hakahaka ang danger. And you are generalizing. Your statement does nit have an iota if evidence of racism.

Is there or isn’t there a deadly virus that’s been spreading? Fact is the CoronavirusOutbreak originated from China. Just do what you can to contain it.
Know what else is dangerous? Governments lying about the spread of a deadly disease they knew about long before they informed the world.
It is not racist to protect your own people from any form of harm, injury, or death. Banning flights from and going to heavily infected regions is not a form of racism.
