His comments come at a time when Disney's "Star Wars" film plans are in question and the company has yet to announce updates for a planned film trilogy after producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss exited the project."The Mandalorian" is the perfect blueprint for the franchise moving forward, as the hit show expanded the franchise for new and old fans alike.
There's the "possibility of infusing ['The Mandalorian'] with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series," Iger said.There's still a "Star Wars" movie on the release schedule for 2022, which is intended to start a new trilogy.
