“If the state government proceeds to continue carrying out all the commitments as announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Openg in the state budgets for 2019 and 2020, Sarawak may face financial distress and this will impact us and our future generations,” Wong, who is also the president of the Opposition Parti Sarawak Bersatu , said in a statement.
“Likewise, Sarawak must do the same. The oil and gas sector have suffered such a massive blow which will flow on to have a devastating impact on our state’s economy. He also questioned the RM2.26 billion allocation under the two special aid packages to help the target groups and SMEs mitigate the impact of Covid-19 pandemic.
