That’s the message from car dealerships in the country after the easing of the nationwide lockdown regulations from level 5 to level 4 early this month.
It is not business as usual for the motor industry, with some dealerships only opening for essential services in line with the level 4 regulations. “We will also be able to perform services for essential service workers. Strict health and safety measures are adhered to at all operating dealerships to ensure the safety of our valued employees and customers,” said Renault SA in a statement to customers.

The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA said there was a 98.4% drop in new vehicles sales last month compared to the same period last year.
