"IBM firmly opposes and will not condone uses of any technology, including facial recognition technology offered by other vendors, for mass surveillance, racial profiling, violations of basic human rights and freedoms," he said in the letter.IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said Monday that the tech giant will stop offering facial recognition software and called for a "national dialogue" on the way the technology is used for law enforcement.
"IBM no longer offers general purpose IBM facial recognition or analysis software," Krishna said in the letter addressed to congressional leaders, including Senators Cory Booker and Kamala Harris.
