Contact this reporter securely using encrypted messaging app Signal or encrypted email .Like many big tech companies right now, Google is plotting to bring its vast and sprawling workforce back to the office. Several Google employees, who spoke to Business Insider on the condition of anonymity, said that the company shared further details on what the return to offices might look like during a recent all-hands meeting.
Google said employees coming to the office may be asked to take their temperature at home, but that they will also have to go through a temperature check on arrival. It is also considering offering full COVID-19 nasal swab tests in certain offices, employees were told. Free meals are one of the most lauded perks for Googlers, but employees won't be greeted by the usual bountiful kitchen spread. Instead, they will be provided with lunch boxes, and the company won't be offering breakfast or dinner services, as per its current plans.
