“At what point do markets get nervous?” said Eric Miller, a Canadian who runs Rideau Potomac Strategy Group, a political and regulatory adviser based in Washington. “You do feel like you are watching the waning days of U.S. global leadership.”
It’s true that Washington would re-emerge as a barrier to TC Energy Corp.’s Keystone XL pipeline. Still, the Canadian economy grows when the U.S. economy grows, and both economies could use a boost to push through the current spike in COVID-19 infections: Canada’s gross domestic product surged to an annual rate of almost 50 per cent in the third quarter, but will slow to a rate of one per cent this quarter, according to the Bank of Canada.
Congress and the White House will agree on something, but it probably won’t be as generous as it would have been if the Democratic candidates had been as successful as the polls on Nov. 3 suggested they were going to be. But Biden won’t be able to erase the past four years. There is no going back, at least not all the way back. More than 67 million Americans cast a ballot for the candidate who encouraged misogyny, racism and serial lying. They won’t be happy about losing, and other politicians will emerge to represent them. There is no obvious ground for compromise with a Democratic base that has lurched to the left.
I really hope all the racism, poverty, and corruption is over. Oh wait I really thought the Obama's were the ones who were going to do that as well.... Seems to me they all lie and do very little to help citizens. They only help themselves. Take down those cages Joe
It will still be better than trying to do business under our Liberal government.
