SA needs to address the high public sector wage bill as a matter of urgency, Busa said on Monday.

“If we assume a drop in nominal GDP of 4% this year and increases of 4% in each of the next two years, and we want to decrease payroll costs by 10.5% by 2025/26, aggregate payroll costs can increase by no more than 1.8% a year in nominal terms. The release of the report comes at a time when Cosatu is holding its three-day bargaining, organising and campaigns conference from Monday.

U really have no idea as to what's going on, South Africans hospitals serving the whole Africa free, so cut that expense first

Government must first put a ban on private security, private healthcare and private education then reduce the wage bill by a reduction in police, reduction in nurses and teachers so that the effects of these calls by the well off are felt by everyone!

You can't resolve our country finances if still obsessed with covid lockdown like PresidencyZA AND DlaminiZuma . tito_mboweni

_cosatu SAFTU_media Numsa_Media SACP1921 they are talking austerity. Well....... CR17BankStatements

Busa is just angry cause there are no tenders for their members because government is saying they don't have money. They were making billions out of government now that money dried out they blame public service wage bill.

People complain about long ques at home affairs, public hospital etc. They never ask themselves why there is 10 counters but there is only 3 people working. It is because of shortage of staff and then they will be quick to say government employees are lazy.

Will that solve our problems? I doubt. The sad part is that those idiots in government won't be affected only the ordinary public servants will be affected. At the same time fruitless and wasteful, irregular expenditure keeps increasing and no one seems to be held accountable

Meanwhile the private sector is flourishing/ surviving with the pension funds of the same public servants. Very rich coming from them.

What about addressing the corruption gripping the country first? Leave public servants alone bloody hyenas

Kaak se BUSA,.. who do they think they're se moer mann!! Public servants are the most hardworking personnel in this country, meaning they undermine the effort of our- Police, Nurses, Teachers etc etc? making an honest leaving Hulle moer mann!!

This noise is getting louder. Your move NEHAWU SAFTU_media Numsa_Media and EFFLabourDesk. Creditors are forcing massive retrenchments to OUR government

The government is nursing their unions allies wonder how are they going to start addressing that when they keep saying bailing SAA and other son is the right thing to do pleasing unions
