In a special announcement today, Muhyiddin said the package which is named the Malaysian Economic and Rakyat Protection Assistance Package, or Permai, will help put money in people’s pockets and ensure the survival of businesses during the movement control order announced last week. Muhyiddin said the government does not expect as severe an economic impact as seen with the first MCO implemented in the second quarter of 2020, as more economic activities are allowed to operate.
Muhyiddin also acknowledged that some public and business quarters are concerned about the implementation of MCO and the Emergency proclamation which has been imposed from January 11 to August 1 this year.
