Cape Town - Cape Town-based bio-pharmaceutical Biovac has been appointed for three months to provide storage and distribution services for vaccines to inoculate frontline healthcare workers.
Biovac’s main activity is to import, label and distribute vaccines to the South African market. For example, it has supplied six vaccines made by international vaccine manufacturers for South Africa’s childhood immunisation programme. It also supplies other countries in the region.
None of the stuff is barcoded. How do we even know what's in those vials? And in a country with a tribalist government whose management style is a mix of threats, house arrests, racism, nepotism, grift, graft and corruption, how do we expect this to be managed equitably ?
