LONDON - Britain’s business minister said on Wednesday he welcomed a decision by Uber to give its more than 70,000 British drivers entitlements such as the minimum wage after the Silicon Valley-based company lost a Supreme Court case on worker rights.Reporting by Sarah Young; writing by Costas Pitas, editing by Paul Sandle
Uber aren't Taxis they're Minicabs , PHV ...your picture indicates they're are Taxis they are NOT
Uber do not supply Taxis, they supply private hire vehicles. Please change that photo it's misleading and false advertising.
This was the supreme courts decision that Uber tried to fight for years. Looks like Reuter’s received their brown envelope then.
And you don't question this, coming from the advocates of sweeping deregulation and unbridled free marketeering?
The UK Govt could have passed legislation years ago to give drivers those same rights. Instead, they stood back and let the Trade Union take on the hugely expensive legal fight, while actively trying to undermine trade unions.
I once worked for a movie chain that had to give all its managers raises because their salaries did not match the hourly minimum wage.
People need a little more good news now.
Something good!
