Casual dining restaurant chain Max's Group reported a P1.7-billion net loss in 2020 from the P721-million income in 2019."This extraordinary year was a reflection of the global restaurant industry performance amidst the COVID-19 pandemic," said Max's Group president and CEO Robert Ramon Trota.
Trota said they have chosen to focus on Max's Restaurant, Yellow Cab Pizza, Krispy Kreme, and Pancake House. They also optimized their store network and overall cost structure to cope with the pandemic.Emperador reported"remarkable growth" in its international business in 2020, boasting a 376% growth in its brandy business in the United Kingdom.
The company also grew its brandy business by 44% in Mexico, 74% in Canada, and 24% in the United States. "We remain optimistic that we can sustain the momentum of our international business this year as we expect continuing increase in the production and distribution volume of our brandy and whisky products all across Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe, and Africa this year," said Glenn Manlapaz, CEO of Emperador International.
