Ellen did not have a fancy MBA or any business training, but she recognized a need in her industry, and she knew she could resolve that problem for chefs and other apron users. She believed in her idea; she knew it was a good idea and followed through. As Ellen states in her book, “what you have trumps what you don’t have.”That wasn’t much money to start with, but that’s what she needed to get started.
The bottom line is even when it feels like the odds are stacked against you, when you have the idea and ambition to follow your dreams, ignore the naysayers and go for it.
