ChickenHeadz in Ocean Beach is offering a $200 bonus for new employees if they stay for at least two months.A handful of major restaurant chains across the nation have recently announced that they are raising wages in a bid to attract workers as they finally begin to reopen at full capacity.eases and patrons -- fueled by pent-up demand and stay-at-home fatigue -- flock to eat out, some workers and advocates see this apparent labor shortage as an opportunity to call for industry-wide wage reform.
"We know that McDonald's earns a lot of money, they made a lot of money during the pandemic, and they haven't really offered it to any of us workers who are with risking our health working during a pandemic," he said."We're fighting for our kids. As parents, we need better wages to give them better lives."
"When we first started hearing about these labor shortages, the first responses that we were hearing from employers were that they were offering hiring bonuses or interview bonuses, and those represent a temporary increase in compensation," he added. Veering from one-time bonuses to wage increases could signal that employers"perceive a structural issue in the long-term, where they need to raise wages in order to actually attract workers.
They'll be back.. bc the Republicans are ending those extra checks faster than massa crackin a whip... ✌🏾
Some places you can’t even get 40hrs a week. You can’t live like that.
HS summer jobs should help
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA IDGAF UR FAULT
Simple pay less to the millionaire CEO’s , and pay more to the lower wage personnel easy fix
Time to automate!!
Good
With many restaurants raising prices on their menus upwards 30%, maybe less maybe more, then bout time workers wages went up..otherwise worker may still be better off just stay regular unemployment without federal xtra $300 each week than go back scrap wages and lotsa sweat..!!
What does this do for price of a Big Mac?
😂Then only the rich will be able to eat fast food! When stupid people are out in charge...it always leads to disaster. We are seeing it in Chicago first hand! A first job for kids and for retirees is now suppose to be a good paying job...though no skills or education needed😝
Guess those robots aren’t ready yet…
Won’t someone spare a thought for the suffering corporations?
McDonald's has more than enough money to pay the workers whatever they demand
I’ll order MCDonalds today to show a force for the labor. I can leave an ENORMOUS TIP!!! I want it to go to the employees!!
Finally, maybe now we will become more healthy without one of these in every corner.
good McD IS POISON ANYWAY
good
Well shit.
Sounds like companies are getting what they deserve. If you won’t pay a living wage then you shouldn’t be in business.
So the 'we'll just use robots if we have to raise wages' argument turned out to be a giant load of BS.
i'm sorry, but is it any surprise that, even independent of a long-overdue min wage bump, it's no longer worth it to expose yourself as a retail or food service worker after all that's happened? you can't just pretend that service jobs are worth the same wages after this
Good for the workers
Oh well🤷♀️
No worry Republicans and their lackey Joe Biden will save the slave wagers with workers forced into poverty wages.
That explains why the ice cream machine is always down
JFC this headline 🤦♂️How dense can you idiots be?!
You make fast food and screw up orders a lot....that doesn't deserve a higher wage.
They could just pay their workers a little more 🤷🏼♂️
Good
Shouldn't be such a thing as 'low wage earners' - not in what still is the wealthiest country on Earth - anyone working deserves more than 'low wage'; the labor shortage won't disappear until wages rise substantially GOP filibustering minimum wage is the cause of economic pain
