The United States International Trade Commission said on Wednesday that U.S. manufacturers are"materially injured" by imports of passenger vehicle and light truck tires from Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
In 2020, the Commerce Department opened investigations into vehicle tire imports from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam in response to petitions filed by the United Steelworkers representing workers at U.S. tire plants."We’re grateful that the ITC affirmed what USW members see every day: a deliberate effort to undercut our domestic industry and overtake our market,” USW International President Tom Conway said in a statement.
Time for change...
US: does the majority of production outside the country Those countries: Now that we have companies making tires here, let's go into competition with the u.s. US: no your harming our tire industry that way!
Has the US actually considered the possibility that if its industries are so easily 'harmed' by competitors in Asia, then there's something wrong with them?
