The apartment has a lofty entertaining floor with an open office, kitchen, living and dining areas. The area is anchored by a wood-burning fireplace with a brick hearth and a custom stone surround. The lower floor also holds a second bedroom with an en suite bath, which Mr. Lane uses as a flexible office space.
A winding staircase leads to the primary bedroom suite, which includes a white marble bathroom with a steam shower. The condo’s interiors were designed by architect William Sofield, who also selected the furniture for the apartment, Ms. Cashman said. Furniture isn’t included with the sale. Ms. Cashman said Mr. Lane bought the apartment in 1999 after he moved from Los Angeles to work with the New York Theatre Workshop. “He was drawn to this space for the location, North Moore Street has always been considered Tribeca’s Gold Coast,” she said. Mr. Lane declined to comment.
The condo building, known as the Merchants House, is a historic former warehouse that now houses luxury apartments. Mr. Lane, who has acted in both film and theater, recently wrapped filming on the HBO period drama “The Gilded Age,” where he plays Ward McAllister.
