Australian Industry & Defence Network CEO Brent Clark says he is concerned about the “hundreds” of companies around Australia who were preparing for the French submarine deal, which was recently scrapped by the federal government.
“The reality here is that, clearly, the government has made a strategic decision and we will always respect the government’s right to do that,” Mr Clark told Sky News Australia. “But you have got hundreds of Australian companies systematically investing, upgrading, upskilling, and spending money to get themselves ready to go into the supply chain for Naval Group.
Indeed. Also, France is a neighbour & due to China importing USA made goods now rather than Aust made goods, Aust has an export market in the EU. Aust ought to retain the contract with France & add to capability though not nuclear. Re quantum computing, Aust is at the forefront.
