The National Institute of Communicable Diseases has reported a decrease in the positivity rate of COVID-19 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The latest figures show a 8.6% positivity rate, down 0.6 percentage points from the previously reported number.
1931 people tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 3 581 359 in the past two years. Due to the ongoing audit exercise by the National Department of Health, there may be a backlog of COVID-19 mortality cases reported. Today, the Department reports 114 deaths and of these, 17 occurred in the past 24 – 48 hours. This brings the total fatalities to 94 177 to date.
