The Independent candidate in the Sydney seat of Wentworth was approached by Ausgrid less than two weeks ago to take down posters after it received complaints.
"We were advised by a Senior Counsel that the campaign was not in breach of the Electricity Supply Act and not under any immediate obligation to remove the signs," she said. An Ausgrid spokesperson confirmed it had written to all Wentworth electorate contenders about removing"a growing number of corflutes and signage".
An Ausgrid spokeswoman confirmed posters were removed and it is an offence to interfere with electricity assets unless they sought permission due to safety reasons.
Its a distraction, prefLNPLast, practice here,
Typical Liberals
What a halfwit, leaves it for electricity workers to take her signs down, she is going to get a lot done lol.
I think this AEC rule is dumb, although somewhat understandable. Still, rules should be enforced consistently to all candidates
Charma like Tim ,so desperate. Having no substance to defend them selves resort to posters removing tactics thingies. These people are not fit to hold office.Just distractors scare stiff to fight on real issues. Aus don't deserve rubbish MPs,chuck them in bin.
Rules differ for Libs however
Try a bill board at an intersection, maybe walk around a visit the constituency. I see it as petty, election time brings out the worst in some people.
And let me guess without even reading this. She is a popular independent against a sitting liberal and the complaints were not from the general public. Am i close?
