Victim Shamsul Nanring was believed to have drowned when he fell into the waters due to the beach’s slippery rocks.
Lahad Datu district police chief Asst Comm Rohan Shah Ahmad in a statement on Wednesday said earlier they received information from the public at 2.20pm on Tuesday, alerting them to the discovery of the body. "A team was sent over and upon inspection, found the documentation on the body, where the victim’s address was listed as Kampung Batu 1, Lahad Datu."Initial investigations do not point to any criminal element and the victim was believed to have slipped,” he said, adding that a post-mortem had been conducted.
