A newly formed commercial real estate firm is already closing some major deals and is looking to grow its client base and its team in the next year.
Before coming together, the four principals of Echo West worked in different backgrounds in the commercial real estate world — financing, sales and leasing — and Mathers said with their experience and a focus on data and client education, the firm has been able to quickly find success. With the current state of the real estate market having the potential to change very quickly, Mathers said his firm offers value in offering a big-picture view of what a potential deal could mean for the buyer.
While Echo West is motivated to close on properties for clients, which they benefit from with fees and commissions, Mathers said all four principals have spent time in large national brokerages – Colliers International, Marcus & Millichap and Newmark – and they want to avoid the “churn and burn” mentality placed on a lot of young brokers in those firms.
