The next day, while riding his bicycle during mid-2020 Covid-19 lockdowns, it struck Sharman that many other Netflix-watching families likely had the same debate - and that he could use this to his advantage. "The long tail of that content ensured four of the next seven months were up for the brand - and the comparatives were from pre-Covid. We put the brand back on the map," Sharman says.
"The adoption of Netflix in lockdown meant - for the first time in history - the global English-speaking audience is now connected to a single water cooler moment of culture; moving at the speed of relevance has never been more impactful for brands to capitalise on."
