A Hollywood insider explains how Disney mismanaged Star Wars despite the success of the franchise's streaming series. George Lucas changed pop culture forever in 1977 with the release of Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope and began one of the largest media franchises of all time. Star Wars remained under Lucas' leadership until 2012, when the visionary filmmaker sold his production company Lucasfilm to the Walt Disney Company.
Even though Andor, apparently, is good, this new Star Wars series that Tony Gilroy did, so keep that in mind, but I believe the management of the Star Wars franchise has been abysmal since Disney took over Lucasfilm. And mostly on the film side.
Nah I'm good
They came out with a universally acclaimed Star Wars thing like two days ago.
Its the same with the bond franchise its meh! Luckily star wars now have the TV shows as a break from the norm! We have seen Bill burr acting his ass off in mando! More of this please !
Couldn't get past the first couple of paragraphs. Shit reads like an AI generated article.
This again? Seriously? That’s the last thing I need to see. The sequel trilogy was fine, honestly. Much better than the prequels. I have not seen all the shows on D+, but the backlash is uncalled for. Solo was my least favorite and even then it wasn’t bad like AOTC.
I've been saying all along, get rid of Kathleen Kennedy. She's restricting everything related to movies being made, as she only wants content to go to Disney plus. She's too scared to give the green light to anything new, in case it fails, like the last 2 movies.
They need to leave the current era alone no more legacy characters no more fan service they need a clean slate thousands of years in the future or the past to build new characters and stories the current setting is too chaotic too much bitterness
The problems started with JJ Abrams. He’s just a hack. What lack of vision to literally have Han and Leia essentially having never changed as characters over 30 years and having given up on their son. And ppl get big mad at RJ. My god.
That’s one man’s opinion. The same as any. It’s my opinion that they need to leave the past alone and work towards the future. Lucas laid the groundwork. Just write great stories. It can be special again.
It's funny that when fans were saying this there was a problem with toxic fandoms 🤣 access media waking up from there slumber
Star Wars series would be better if they weren’t always trying to sell toys. Give a director or writer the opportunity to tell a story without having to include a character they can turn into a toy. Let that be secondary.
This is what happens when let She who will not be named be in charge of Star Wars. I liked The Force Awakens, But it was all downhill from there.
Is this news now? Fairly self-evident for a long time.
Everyone agrees 👍🏼
Kathleen Kennedy should be blasted out an airlock and Feloni/Faverau given full control. Problem solved.
OrangeGrove55 And yet, they have seen more critical and fan success with the shows on Disney+ than anything since Rogue One in theaters (they were split on Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker, and all but eviscerated Solo)
Rian Johnson is right there, he had something with The Last Jedi but none of ypu f**kers were ready for it. Let him have his trilogy already.
The final two were just god awful. Thank goodness for Rogue 1.
