Meet the Business Times' new class of Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business.

AC Transit board president; Alameda County Transportation Commission vice chairInvolvement includes the Bay Area Council, Sierra Club, Bike East Bay, East Bay Women’s Political Caucus, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, Women in Transportation Seminar San Francisco Bay Area Chapter and Latinos in Transit. I led the efforts to buy American-made buses so that US manufacturers could benefit from AC Transit’s purchasing power.

The late Alameda County Board Supervisor Mary King recruited me to join the AC Transit board because of my legislative experience in Sacramento to help with future land use and transportation decisions. This included moving forward the design and construction of the Salesforce Transit Center as a member of the Transbay Joint Powers Authority.The most valuable advice I can share is to figure out what you care about and what is important in your life.
