Friday’s September jobs report showed US manufacturers added another 22,000 workers in September, increasing employment in the sector by nearly 500,000 over the course of the last 12 months. The nearly 13 million workers employed in US factories make up the industry’s largest workforce since the Great Recession caused employment in the sector to plunge more than a dozen years ago.
But even with fears of a recession rising now, industry experts don’t expect factory jobs to default to their familiar boom-to-bust cycle this time. “I think we’re in uncharted territory,” said Jay Timmons, CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers. “For every 100 jobs openings in the sector we only have 60 people who are looking. I think it’ll take quite a while to fill that pipeline.
Which market is buying so much stuff? I mean is everybody producing weapons for Ukraine?
That's why the border is wide open. Made in America by Mexican workers that arrived yesterday
College college college then whoops, no one wants gasoline engine engineers anymore.
Need onsite daycare. Hrs that match school hrs.
What could American factories possibly be producing? Not baby formula or clean drinking water .... What could it be? It is a mystery.
These are jobs that were lost due to covid not because new manufacturing plants are opening up
Inflation 8.7, gasoline costs going up up up, retirement accounts tanking, food costs up!
Total BS
Who did that? Trump
Remember when Trump wanted to bring manufacturing back you guys called him a racist
What a horrible report and calls this US factories are humming 😂 Typical CNN trying to protect an administration that’s failing at every turn. In fact many companies are still looking to outsource in order to avoid higher taxes and excessive regulations. Again. Disgraceful

Would you have the latest data on employment rate at hand?
More fake news
There are too many workers still sitting at home frightened by Covid gaslighting that won't go to work. Young people lying in basements with no ambition other than taking drugs. Inflation is making them go back. Good.
It’s cause of all those illegals taking jobs
Sounds like an amazing problem to have !! Unfortunately the wages are not reflecting the work.
Made in America should be changed to 'Made in Rural'. The truth is these manufacturing plants are in small rural areas of the country with not enough population to fill jobs. They built them their to attract conservatives to build voting blocs. Truth America
It's important that you ignore this and instead talk about inflation and gas prices. To advance the fascists' narrative.
Wait....Biden is bringing back American Manufacturing CNN headline 'Why adding Manufacturing jobs is bad for Biden' CNN had become FOX news-lite
I want to go
There are workers at the southern border looking for a better life. Let them in, let them work, let them have a chance at the American dream.
Forget the job market! Work never had a future to start with and never it will have one. Work cannot be done by smart people. Work is about helping a capitalist to eliminate his competitors with the latest robots.
