As a youngster, Magan Hernandez spent many days exploring St. Augustine and said she always dreamed of owning one of the many historic inns that occupy the city.
"A long time ago, I spent a lot of time here as a child, and we would go downtown and I would always see these houses and say, 'That house is so pretty; I'm going to have a house like that someday,'" Magan said. Always looking at real estate listings, Magan said she knew the inn was a special opportunity, even though it was a lot of money for the couple. They had to do some footwork to secure private financing for the down payment, but it was a project they wanted to do and closed on it in the spring.
Also, part of Magan's dream as a child might might have been to live and work at the inn, but the current situation is not anything like that. Magan is a busy mother of four with other properties to manage, and Israel still works as a travel nurse.
