, a woman who accused Carter of sexual assault last December. He accused Ruth of being “manipulated into making false allegations” by Schuman and her father.)

“We aren’t just seeking justice and accountability from the predators, but also the industry that enables them, allows and creates a systemic problem of providing access and [the] environment covering up sexual assault that continues to occur,” Schuman said. “And because of these women and other survivors who are coming forward, we will hold the predators as well as the industry itself accountable so we can put an end to this.

Schuman and other speakers pointed to recent laws in New York and California that dropped the statute of limitations oncrimes and allowed people to sue their alleged abuser regardless of when the alleged assault took place. Anderson called on the industry to enact numerous changes, speaking in directives both specific and general. When a rock star like Michael Jackson feels free to share a bed with numerous unrelated children or when rockstar Anthony Keidis (Red Hot Chili Peppers)feels free to write this is his memoir than things need to change. MJFam

People have looked the other way for too long, both the fans ant the people making the money on the abusers And it's the same with the movie industry, look at Pitt and Depp etc StopLookingTheOtherWay

marilynmansonisinnocent nickcarterisinnocent bunch of fish wives salivating and gossiping over glorified rumours. Instead of at the school gates you have access now to every vindictive and judgmental person you hope to reach. Critical thinking is severely lacking these days

Ratatica1 I have worked in the music industry for nearly 2 decades and thankfully it is changing, and that kind of behaviour isn't tolerated any more and MeToo played a big part in that. Women are better represented in the industry both on stage and behind the scenes.

MelissaSchuman When the Grammys doesn't invite you, you invite yourself? Did you not see the lawsuit that was just filed?

im a woman, class of 1973. women will always be assaulted in that world, ,but rock is a guy culture.women, unless theyre very talented as songwriters, like Carly or Carole , will always be treated as and looked at as body parts. it may not be nice but thats the way it is.
