On surface China seems to be on its backfoot but they will wait and prey for the opportunity to take one lethal counter attack to cripple US, unable compete with China as the worlds No.1 in the long run. By then US will hv no choice but to pass on the crown to China

I think US gov't has been surprised by China ambushing them in these trade talks - they have totally underestimated China's resilience, don;t forget that China managed to stave off US in the Vietnam and Korean wars
