The decision to cancel the Christmas market will face greater scrutiny after it was called-in by the Conservative group.
A statement says: “Whilst the Conservative Group acknowledge that changes had to be made to the Lincoln Christmas Market, the way in which the City of Lincoln Council’s Executive have handled this has fallen far short of what stakeholders and residents would expect from the council for such an essential event in Lincoln’s festive calendar.”They have asked that the council issue a public apology for its “poor engagement” and review decision making processes to stop this happening again.

Rest of the nation calls for apology of 12 years of corruption...
Not about the businesses being consulted the Christmas marker should NOT be cancelled. Disgusted shame on the Council. You just killed the trade at Lincoln.
Even if the decision was paused for a full consultation there won’t be a enough time to reverse the decision for Christmas 2023. So that’s £12million for the local economy flushed down the toilet for this year. Well done Lincoln City Council 👏👏👏
