By the time an aircraft lands at an ACSA or any other South African airport, government approval has already been granted. The Airports Company said planned operational changes for refuelling are not an attempt to bypass sanctions imposed by Western governments.
As reported by News24, Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Transport was this week briefed on the refusal by major oil companies, supplying jet fuel at ACSA airports, to refuel Russian planes. But the new planned process will see oil companies only supply the fuel. A new independent operator will manage the facilities on ACSA's behalf. The independent operator will operate the tanks and fuel hydrant, and the oil companies will have to pay a fee to the operator.According to a presentation made by ACSA to the committee, this will deal with a scenario"where a sanctioned friend of the South African government needs servicing and refuelling".
"ACSA's plan to separate jet fuel supplying companies from the refuellers and through-putters at its airports, by appointing its own independent refuelling and through-putting operator, dates back to 2020, long before the outbreak of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine," ACSA said.A deep dive into the big business story of the week, as well as expert analysis of markets and trends.
Sad and SICK to see South Africans wanting to LIE ON THEIR BACKS and be fkd by America, clearly your god. Shame on you !!!! You willingly condone Western imperialism and defend the terrorist state of the USA
It's REDICULOUS to interfere with ACSA on this matter as South Africa DOES NOT ANSWER TO TGE WARMONGERING USA. We did not impose sanctions. Once again Western loyalist racists interfere.
You know it has to be true when SA/ANC 'vehemently deny' anything
‘Vehemently deny’ = probably true!
That's when a state becomes relevant. SA start been different. Act internally. Associate for relevance and don't be in a leech.
Why else would they do it?
Europe and USA should simply ban SAA from refuelling in Europe , USA or Britain.

🤦♀️ Is there nothing we can do right?
Denies.. Means it true to the last letter..
Off course they will bypass the sanctions by implementing skelm changes. That's how Government operates.
It is not true, until it is officially denied.
Sanction South Africa. Let all the Putinheads see what their great friendship with 'Russia' is really worth.
The US sanctions on Russia have nothing to do with SA. By this mentality, the US will be telling SA what to do in other matters they are involved in very soon. Go on ACSA, do your thing.
The more vehement the denial the more accurate the allegation
If we cannot refuel planes in our own country whom we choose to, we have NO sovereignty. Then we are just another US colony like the EU vassal states.
Everything & everyone will be scrutinized, it's good, should have been the case since the travel gate scandal in Mbeki's reign
Wonder which cadre got the contract as “independent operator” to supply fuel?
Hmm..vehemently, doth protest too much Where there's smoke...
POTUS SecYellen pls sanction them
