A finance director helped himself to more than £250,000 of company funds to spend on prostitutes, foreign holidays and hotel rooms.
In 2019, a colleague, Sophie Thompson, noticed Parker was not giving her full instructions to carry out her duties and said things were being taken care of when they weren't. When lockdown hit in March 2020, Parker began working from home. However six months into the arrangement, Parker's deception came to light while he was away on holiday.
On August 24 2020, Parker was called into a meeting with Matt Dickinson, a company director, and confessed he had been taking money from the business - although he could not say how much. Investigations uncovered £255,304. 84p of fraudulent transactions which could be attributed to Parker. Sentencing, Recorder Carwyn Cox said: "I accept this is a catastrophic fall for you. You left school at 16 and worked in finance all your life. You have been married for nine years and have grown up children.
