In the wake of last month’s tragic shooting at a private school in Tennessee, some companies aren’t waiting for lawmakers. Instead, they are turning to technology in hopes of avoiding more mass shootings, especially in schools.
Kevin Thomas came up with the design after last year’s tragedy at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and two teachers were killed. The rapid-deployment safe room is set up in the corner of a classroom. In as few as 10 seconds, it can be expanded, providing shelter against bullets in an active shooter situation."There's no protection like real-life protection in the classroom that can protect you on all four sides, so to speak. Our product is not really gonna be a one-size-fits-all fix because we're just treating a symptom right now until we fix the problem," said Thomas.
The shelters cost more than $50,000 each, but Thomas asks, 'What price do you put on the life of a child?’
We don’t want bullet proof cages for our kids. We want gun control
“Private schools”
Put 'pet doors' on all the entrances. These doors only open with an RFID chip in a school ID - either student or adult.
How many school shootings were there before the gun free zones?
How sad that it's come to THIS. Pass some common sense gun laws people, please.
Nobody wants to talk about the root of the problems in America, only stupid bandaids like this. This country is obsessed with guns down to its core and will likely never change
This is the least reasonable solution. Has the maker of this ever been into a classroom? There isn’t room to pull it out
who did the shootings again? had it been Extreme MAGA you would lead with it
Absurd waste of money.
Isn't it cheaper and more effective to hire security guards?
Well, if it protects gun owners then, let’s do it!
$50,000 per classroom. More than what they pay most teachers. Genius.
I bet you a Republican is behind this stupid idea.
We do not live in a democracy. We live in a failed police state.
Or, hear me out…. We could regulate weapons and not settle for a society bathing itself in weapons. We have NO need for all these damned guns. A sea of weapons will ALWAYS find its way into schools.
This is dystopian stuff.
I’d rather just have a security guard
We are really stupid now

No. Ban guns.
Enterprising ghouls finding a nifty way to capitalize on the massacre market. We could, instead, implement sane gun control but it's not as profitable.
