CLEVELAND, Ohio – Michael Schroeder, a Cleveland police sergeant, took home more money last year than his boss. In fact, he earned more than most of the city’s top bosses, including Mayor Justin Bibb.
Schroeder grossed $240,436, with $145,881 of it in overtime. But Schroeder wasn’t an outlier. He joined several other officers who doubled their salaries patrolling the streets of Cleveland and the gates of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Does this article suggest they did something wrong? Someone has to cover these shifts. The media keeps attacking the police, CPD can’t find applicants. They have 14 people in their academy.
JustinMBibb 's version of as he calls it, 'right-sizing' CPD
Rightfully earned, working OT to finish reports, lunch breaks cut short or none, to assist/ handle tons of calls .also everyday, every shift are MANDATED to work over if no volunteers...
We’ll of course they’re leaving in droves. Look how much they have in walk away money (drop program) when they’re in their late 40s or early 50s. $100,000s x Duh
So when will these dirtbags start paying their own lawsuits? Watch how fast these dirty cops change.
Tbh this story could (and should) be written about LOTS of PDs. But doing so takes a very special kind of journalist, so I hope y’all appreciate Olivia Mitchell. 👏👏👏
I’m sure that fatigue will not lead to any bad decisions on the job.
When you defund the police, someone has to work.
