In the list of 100 companies, released by Financial Times , the London-based publication, BHM made its debut at number 87.FT said the ranking, now in its second year, showed that companies in sectors including fintech, renewable energy, healthcare, commodities and agriculture were managing to grow their businesses while much of the world shut down.
Commenting on the recognition, Ayeni Adekunle, BHM’s founder and chief executive officer, expressed his delight at the firm being included amongst the most innovative and forward-thinking companies on the continent. “It’s a big deal for us, not only because we are the only communications services company on the list, but because we are in great company – right there with some of the biggest brands on the continent; many that we look up to and have had the privilege of working for. It’s humbling and inspiring,” Adekunle said.“We’ve been bootstrapping BHM since 2006, and the past few years have been rough – fast but tough growth, international expansion , and all the challenges that you can imagine.
“The plan is to deliver what will be the first truly international communications services company from Africa; a true global player with a commitment to the continent. “And each passing day, each recognition, each project, each added country convinces me we are on track.”
