TORONTO — Ontario is gathering feedback on legislation aimed at eliminating the gender wage gap, including asking businesses how onerous pay transparency reporting would be.
Labour Minister Laurie Scott said the Liberals passed the legislation right before the election without any consultations, and she said people affected by the law wanted an opportunity to be heard. The consultation questions ask the best way to calculate the wage gap, including if bonuses, overtime pay and commissions should be involved, what the reporting periods should be, and how much time and money it would take to meet reporting requirements.
The only wage gap that exists is the trickle down economics between the “rich and poor”. Wages have stagnated for decades.
Gender pay equity a joke. Men and women are not equal so how do you measure equity. Ridiculous !!!!
Not this shit again!
Perhaps you should make a law regarding work gaps, you know, where people who do nothing of any value still expected to get paid? Best place to start finding those people is in government.
The gap is 11.3% before considering differences in career choices. Once this is considered, the gap almost completely disappears.
Even if such a gap existed, it is none of the concern of the gov't to mend it. Pays are agreed upon between two consenting parties. Interference is contrary to their rights as individuals. Stop playing collectivist games.
Law on pay gaps. What could go wrong 😂
No pay gap exists. Unless you are referring to the way women are treated as second class citizens in the middle east and other 3rd world shitholes.
There is no wage gap. Just lazy women that choose not to work longer than 40hrs per week and go into bs 'professions' that are over saturated with workers.
There is no gender pay gap. There is however an hours worked gap. Ontario has bigger problems than looking into a non existent problem.
There is no “gender pay gap” Only people who choose not to exercise their rights Like most social issues this is already dealt with under the law. The fact that someone chooses not to to pursue their rights under that law doesn’t change it.
God, spend your time and money are finding new business to come to Ontario.
Grrrrr....the government should not be wasting time on stuff like this.
