Lim, who spoke before the guests and participants of the launching of the first-ever Davao Region Creative Innovation Summit, dubbed FiestaKucha Kadayawan 2023 on September 26 at the Philippine Women’s College in Juna Subdivision, Davao City, said the project aims to come up with a situation analysis of Davao Region’s creative industry and develop a roadmap for Davao Region using the Philippine Creative Industries Framework.
Lim shared that the conceptualization of the study started way back in 2021 in recognition of the need to develop programs that can maximize the potential of Filipino creativity or “pagka malikhain” and its potential to contribute to the economy as highlighted in the previous and current Philippine Development Plans and the Davao Region Development Plans.
Thus, during the first quarter of 2022 NEDA 11 submitted the proposal and thereafter was granted authority and the funding to implement the creative industries project under the NEDA research and development program with the implementation period running from July of last year up to August 2023 with a one-month extension up to the end of September this year.
