Facebook and Instagram sued four companies and three people based in China for creating and selling fake online accounts, likes and followers

BEIJING—Facebook Inc. and its photo-sharing app Instagram sued four companies and three people based in China for allegedly creating and selling fake online accounts, likes and followers that were used for misinformation campaigns and other scams.

Starting in 2017, the companies marketed and sold fake accounts in large quantities through six websites with similar domain names to Facebook such as myfacebook.cc and 9xiufacebook.com, according to the complaint filed Friday in San Francisco federal court.

In China they are called companies. Everywhere else it is called a criminal organization. How does China government alllows this 🤔. How it is a representative of UN

Who cares? Facebook is a fake company.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's interesting to see the Chinese gov't not allowing its people to use fb and ig, but allowing companies to sell fake likes and followers

Just China? They helped Cambridge Analytica do it for cripes sake!

Rights are not granted by the government. More excuses to raise taxes to pay for the lawyers to run the office that regulates it.
