New York General Motors is in talks to sell the Lordstown, Ohio, plant that it closed earlier this year to Workhorse, which would use it to build electric trucks.
Workhorse's interest in buying the plant was announced in a Wednesday morning tweet by President Donald Trump, who portrayed it as a done deal and hailed the move."With all the car companies coming back, and much more, THE USA IS BOOMING!," he tweeted. He praised GM CEO Mary Barra, who he said had informed him of the deal, which he said would be"subject to a UAW agreement etc." Trump has been very critical of Barra and GM up until now.
— Donald J. Trump May 8, 2019 GM announced plans in November to close Lordstown, along with three other US plants and one in Canada, as it sought to cut cost and free up cash for development of next generation electric and self-driving vehicles. The Lordstown plant had already had two shifts eliminated since January of 2017 and had 1,600 hourly and salaried jobs at the time of the announcement.

if your rep Jim Jordon was doing his job instead of sticking his head up trumps ass. He could have negotiated with GM and maybe people wouldn't loose there jobs. someone should tell him there's no more suites in Moscow trump tower

Thanks POTUS! JOBS SAVED! POSITIVE ECONOMIC ATTITUDE AND POLICIES RESULT IN POSITIVE RESULTS!
And pay minimum wage
So workhouse electric trucks will be working in an old GM plant because General Motors couldn't figure out how to make an electric truck on their own. Why do we bail out General Motors? Oh that's right Obama bailed out the Union and forced GM to shut down a thousands dealerships
Adapting to change.
Guess who 🤡already is taking full credit for this!

Here are 5 things to know about Workhorse, the Cincinnati-area company buying the Lordstown GM plant
The world doesn't need more vehicles too many already... Jobs? For advanced robotic machinery ONLY, maybe 2% human labor? What's the real number?... For corporate enrichment by unnecessary & expensive vehicles? USSupremeCourt USDOL FoxNews USDOT GOP TheJusticeDept AP DNC
Shouldn’t the trucks run on coal.
The following is a bipartisan statement. In Coitsville, Ohio some of the alleged, Congress people, currently in Congress, would not be elected mosquito or dog catcher. Some would be hired to clean porta johns.
I live in OHIO and I welcome the news. Both our Senators, one Republican and one Democrat along with Trump worked on this. This is what we could be doing instead of playing partisan politics all the time.
Look at all the robots that took the jobs. The car industry may be coming back but not all the high paying jobs. Sad. HumanityFirst

Good paying jobs goes, a small company with low demand for comes in that most likely won't pay a living wage or healthcare, but will show jobs are being created so you can pad the stats.
Wait, didn’t an OH rep say those jobs were gone forever and blamed Trump? Interesting, you should put that video with this.
Yes the President told us! Glad to see you are on it! Guess your recent layoffs have got you off the mark a bit!
Electric Trucks - hmmmmm
If Trump had a hand in this, I wonder if it will turn out like the Foxconn deal 😂🤔
So this means the Republicans will be forced to invest in electric car infrastructure. Love it!
