on Saturday in state court in New York. Robinson, who first began working for De Niro as an assistant in 2008, was the former vice president of production and finance at Canal and made a $300,000 salary this year. She resigned in April, apparently amid concerns about “corporate sabotage,” the suit reads.
Robinson has been accused of making extravagant hotel and restaurant charges, as well as using millions of De Niro‘s frequent-flier miles. The suit outlines specific charges, claiming that she made $12,696.65 in unauthorized charges at Paola’s restaurant, a ritzy New York eatery, “over a two-year period, in addition to $8,923.
Then, there are the binge-watching claims. The suit claims that Robinson rarely came into the office. When she did, the suit alleges, she spent hours binge-watching TV shows, including 55 episodes ofover a four-day period in March. “Watching shows on Netflix was not in any way part of or related to the duties and responsibilities of Robinson’s employment and, on information and belief, was done for her personal entertainment, amusement and pleasure at times when she was being paid to work,” the suit alleges.
Robinson penned a resignation email in April, the suit notes, in which she characterized worries about her spending “ridiculous.” She also allegedly wrote a recommendation letter for herself, which De Niro did not sign.
