Virgin and O2 plan merger to challenge Sky and BT

The owners of Virgin Media and O2 are in talks to create a new TV and mobile power player to challenge BT and Sky in the UK.

Interesting how this would give virgin a decent mobile network & o2 better broadband, seems more like a challenge to vodafone & cityfibre but is a good move I think, competition is healthy in this space.

VirginMediaIE owns VirginMedia_One the Irish version of itv and owns the Irish rights to itv studios content
