AMC Networks Interim CEO Touts “Beauty of Small Numbers,” Sees No Need to “Scale by Acquisition”

Asked about Lionsgate’s decision to consider a separation of Starz and AMC Networks’ appetite for boosting its scale via mergers or acquisitions given its smaller size, Blank said about Starz that “we’ll see if they go anywhere.” About AMC Networks, he said: “We don’t feel that it is necessary for us to scale by acquisition in any way, shape or form.” Added the interim CEO: “The model is working ” and “sustainable.
