Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says the electricity market is “broken” as he labelled the current situation as a “national disgrace”.

Mr Canavan said it was a national disgrace Australians would not be guaranteed electricity as warnings of a lack of reserve were issued in NSW.

“We shouldn’t be in this situation … the national electricity market is broken,” he told Sky News Australia.

It is broken, it is a national disgrace, and the last 9 years of LNP mismanagement is a major factor. Matt, you were part of the problem. For shame.

mattjcan you guys contributed most to this, you were in Government 9 years - thats 9 years Matt and did nothing!! Now you are full of vigor to blame everyone else - time to look in the mirror - another Liberal Nationals failure whilst in Government!!

mattjcan , this proud Aussie has been 🤮 alternatives to coal as part of the last govt, and now it is broken- his mob allow our gas to be sold back to us at extortionate rates, didn’t invest in the future energy markets and as soon as they’re in opposition it is “broken” 🐂💩

He’s right. I wonder who has been in charge for the last decade that we can blame?

When are these Criminals going to get jail time seriously or do they get off like the rest of the Criminals did through the Plandemic

Who was in power for the last 8 years?

But Albo is going yo fix and lower the cost of gas and electricity. Where are all these left wing teals now? The silence is deafening.

Well when you privatise an essential service you leave it super exposed to market forces - so what do you expect - and with a 'hands off' government as we have had for a decade it is to be expected,,,,just to get worse over time

“Current” situation🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Canavan’s witty wordplay.

And he was part of making it a disgrace!! Well done Matt!!

Thanks to lack of planning and farcical schemes from Greens and Teals our energy supply is stuffed. We can also largely blame the respective State Labor Premiers for their weak approach to maintaining coal furnaces. They should feel the wrath of the public!!

So Matt has just admitted that the Murdoch party broke the electricity system. I guess you won’t report that!

One that he helped create by privatising the energy sector

Last election indicates majority of Australians say the right wing of LNP os “broken” as they labelled LNP current situation as a “national disgrace”.

It is, lucky LNP are out now so they can stop mismanaging it.

State governments destroyed the energy system led by Weatherill, Andrews etc. Now they sit back and blame the feds while doing nothing to help fix the disaster they have created. All this so they can big note themselves on climate change.

He should know

Happened under Matt's watch.👍

Out of the farm is he

mattjcan Matt ...Why didn't the LNP fix when it had the opportunity? Its a COAG thing.

Obviously Matt is correct, hopefully the government can fix this in the next day or 2.

Only took Labor 4 weeks to break it
