Thursday, Mariotti confirmed that there were layoffs at Mondo but said “the majority of the companywide layoffs weren’t in Mondo.” He also wrote that contrary to early reports last week that Mondo was shutting down the posters division, “the Mondo posters business will continue, period.”

In addition, Mariotti said in the message, Funko will be “investing heavily” in production of vinyl records in the near future, with plans to build a nearly 70,000-square-foot space in San Diego that will be a combination of record-pressing factory, “record store of the future” and live music event space.
