Eskom must fix power stations using income from tariffs - Treasury | BusinessNational Treasury on Tuesday briefed MPs on the Eskom Debt Relief Bill, reiterating that Eskom may not borrow for the next three years and that the company will not receive any other financial support from government to fix its ailing power stations. Now is the time to cut their costs, review staffing, goal contracts, dump BBEEE and control non operation costs. The R222bn for the 'emergency power' is ideal to be re-directed to actually improving our electricity infrastructure & improving overall power station EAF. Still baffling to spend that amount for 1.2GW for infrastructure we don't own... They are driving ESKOM to privatisation like SAA
