FTC sues to block Amgen acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics

Sources familiar with the matter told CNBC's David Faber earlier Tuesday that Amgen is prepared to defend the acquisition, with one source adding the company expects to "win big."

Representatives for Amgen and for Horizon Therapeutics did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNBC.The two drugmakers said in February that the FTC sent themThousand Oaks, California-based Amgen to buy Horizon Therapeutics in early December and said it expected to complete the sale in the first half of this year.for key treatments over the next decade.CNBC Health & Science
